Progressiv, also fortschreitend, so war Volksmusik eigentlich immer: Sie konnte auch gar nicht anders, weil sie durch die nicht-schriftliche Weitergabe "von Instrument zu Ohr" immer auch eine Veränderung durchmachen musste – und durfte. Aus dieser überlieferten Essenz heraus kann Volksmusik aber auch bewusst weiter fortschreiten, Techniken aus anderen musikalischen Welten übernehmen, für sich adaptieren und sich so klanglich und konzeptuell weiterentwickeln - kurz gesagt, zur progressiven Volksmusik (progressive folk) werden.
"progressive folk records" ist das Musik-Label der Band Spafudla und wurde im Jahr 2014 gegründet.
